I was born and raised in Victoria and know the city well. I attended Oak Bay High School, UVic, UBC and
Simon Fraser Universities. During this period I became a Canadian swimming champion, holding records
in several events.
As a member of the Commonwealth Games team in Wales I won bronze and silver medals, followed by a
silver medal at the Pan American Games in Chicago. As a member of the Canadian Olympic team in Rome,
I finished fourth in a relay final. I was inducted into the Greater Victoria Hall of Fame in 2003, and the Oak
Bay High School's Hall of Fame in 2005.
During my professional career I have worked with Westin Hotels, Dillingham Corporation, the Molson Group,
and for 20 years was a General Contractor in Victoria, operating Wheaton Construction Ltd. and various
other related companies. During this period, I served as Chair of the Construction Association of Victoria,
and two terms as Chair of the B.C. Construction Association.
I was also a member of the Bargaining Council of B.C. Construction Labour Relations Association. Wheaton
Construction built many well-known projects, from City Halls to shopping centers, bridges, tunnels, apartment
buildings and university facilities. I have been a licensed real estate agent since 1997.
Soon after entering the real estate business, I became actively involved in the Victoria Real Estate Board,
joining several committees and serving two years as a director. I continue to take an active interest in all
aspects of real estate, attending numerous educational courses each year, in order to ensure that my
clients continue to receive the dedicated commitment that I am so well known for.

I have always been actively involved in community affairs, serving as Vice President of the Victoria Chamber
of Commerce, Director of Tourism Victoria, Chair of the Greater Victoria Hospitals Foundation, Chair of the
Greater Victoria Voters Association, Governor of the 1994 Commonwealth Games, Trustee of the B.C.
Sports Hall of Fame, Governor of Glenlyon-Norfolk School, Chair of the 2006 Pan Pacific Swimming
Championships, Director of Shawnigan Residents Association, serving for many years on the Leader's
committee of the United Way, and on the boards of numerous corporations, both private and public, as well
as serving as a Director of the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame and chairing the Dobber Golf Classic.
