Setting up your own Free Account with Mail Chimp:


1) Follow the instructions on www.mailchimp.com to set up a free account.
2) A suggested setup video can be seen at: How to Use Mail Chimp Step by Step Full Tutorial

4) Set up the account in your own name and address not Promark Promark.
5) Create your "Templates" on Mail Chimp using the email layouts for Mail Chimp shown on:
   
Your Email Marketing Campaigns and on Your Email Marketing Follow-up page of your website.



How to "Add Subscribers" on Mail Chimp - (Simplified)

In this five step example the real estate agent you are sending to will be named Richard Smith from Reno, Nevada, USA.

Step 1 - Go to Mail Chimp and click on "Audience" at the top of the page and then click on the following sequence of links:
"View Contacts" > "Add Contacts" > "Add a Subscriber". Now you can enter the following information where indicated:
Email Address: Enter the agent's email address.
First Name: Enter their first name, Richard (our example name)
Last Name: Enter their last name, Smith (our example name)
Select USA (this is the country where Richard Smith resides)

Check-mark the box that says, This person gave me permission to email them.
(Note: Under Canadian Anti-Sam Legislation (CASL) your mailing list will only include active real estate agents and
professionals who are listed on their brokerage or on their personal website and / or have a public email address).
Click "Subscribe" shown at the bottom of the page.

Step 2 - The next step is as follows - Click on "Audience" at the top of the page.
Now click on "Manage Audience" with the drop down menu located on the right hand side of the page.
From the drop down menu select "View Audiences" which will take you to a different page.
Now click on "Create Audience" shown on the right hand side of the page.
This takes you to a page that says "Tags might work better than a new audience". Click on "Create Audience"shown below.
Now complete the information requested on the "Create Audience" page:
Audience name: (Enter your own name not Promark Preferred)
Default from email address: (Enter your own email address not Promark Preferred's email address)
Default from name: (Enter your own name not Promark Preferred)
Remind people how they signed up to your audience. Enter the following: You are listed as an active real estate agent.
Contact information for this audience: Enter your own name, address and phone number not Promark Preferred.
Under "Notifications" select the following:
One-by-one (Subscribe notifications as they happen)
One-by-one (Unsubscribe notifications as they happen)
Click "Save" shown at the bottom of the page.




How to "Replicate" Mail Chimp Templates - (Simplified)

Step 3 - Go to Mail Chimp and click on "Templates"at the top of the page.
Now locate the Template you want to use.
Now click on the drop down menu beside the word "Edit" located on the right hand side of the page.
From the drop down menu select "Replicate".
Click on "Rename" at the top of the page and change the page title to what you want it to say. (See our examples).
Now edit the information on the page so that it focuses on Richard Smith including his years of real estate experience,
applicable designations, languages spoken, special skills, knowledge of investment properties and / or relocations, etc.
Make sure you have entered the correct salutation and personalized Promo Code on the template.
Click on "Save and Exit" shown at the bottom of the page.



How to "Create a Campaign" for Mail Chimp Templates - (Simplified)

Step 4 - Click on the drop down box beside "Edit" on the right hand side of the page and select "Create Campaign".
Edit the name to be the one for your template.
Click on "Add Recipients". To who are you sending this Campaign to?
"Audience" > "Choose an Audience" > Click on the downward arrow and choose "Your Name" >
Under the heading of "New Segment" and under the text "Contacts match any of the following conditions"
change the box with the drop down arrow to say "Email Address" and then enter the email address of the
person you are sending the template (email) to in the empty box.

Check-mark the box that says: Personalize the "To" field and under the "Merge Tag" heading select:
[ FNAME ] [ LNAME ] and click on "Save".

Next click on "Add Subject" which is located on the right hand side of the page and enter your subject line for
this campaign where it says Subject.
It is important to state this honestly and not mislead or misrepresent anyone.
Enter the Email Subject line you have decided to use from the subject line options we provided.
Look over your Template to double check that it has the correct information and layout.
Click "Save" and then click "Send" which is located at the top right hand side of the page.
Click "Send Now".

Step 5 - Next click on "Reports" located at the top of the page.
Click on "Campaigns" > Current audience and select which results you want to see.
You can then click on "Reports" to see whether or nor Richard Smith has opened your email and
what links
in the email have been clicked on and how many times the email you sent has been opened.
Optional: If your email has not been opened you can phone them and use the Sales Scripts we have provided.
During your phone follow-up you can offer to resend the same email (Mail Chimp Template) for them to review.






Signing up with Mail Chimp and Creating your First Template - (Simplified)

Note: Refer to the Mail Chimp Website for their tutorials related to changes and future updates to the following instructions:

1) Start by going to the Promark Preferred website and copying the pictures shown for all of the Mail Chimp Email Templates that we have created for you. Place them in your Documents folder or in a Pictures folder located on your computer.

2) Next, set up a free Mail Chimp account in your name and address.
Your Title: International Marketing Coordinator Business: International Marketing
Use "your own" email address and also create one new "test" email address to test your Mail Chimp email mailings to check the overall layout, font sizes and content. Use Gmail or any other email service to do your test.

3) After you have created your free mail Chimp account and are ready to begin, click on the "3 black bars" shown at the top left of any Mail Chimp page. You will then see the following five choices: Campaigns, Templates, Lists, Reports and Automatic. Click on "Lists" and then click on "Create List". (Please note that in 2019 "Lists" were changed to "Audience".)

4) You will be asked, "New List or Groups"? Click on the "Create List" link that is shown just below the "List Management" link. You will be taken to the "Create List" page where it asks for List details. Enter the following information for your first Mail Chimp "test" email:

List name: Enter your own name but in the future this is where you will enter the real estate agent's name that you are sending a Mail Chimp email to.

Default "from" email: enter your own name here not Promark Preferred.

Default "from" name: Enter your own name here not Promark Preferred.

Remind people how they got on your list: Enter - You are listed as an active real estate professional.

Contact information for this list: Enter your own name here, not Promark Preferred, and your own address and phone number if not automatically shown.

Next, place a check-mark in all three boxes shown below and then check Save.

5) You will be taken to a new page where you will click on "Add Subscribers". Now click on "Add a Subscriber" from the drop down menu and you will be taken to the Add Subscriber page:

"Email address": Here's where you will enter your new "test" email address and in the future this is where the real estate agent's email address you are sending the Mail Chimp email to will be entered.

"First name": Put in your own first name but in the future it will be the real estate agent's first name.

"Last name": Put in your own last name but in the future it will be the real estate agent's last name.

Next, enter a check-mark in the box below that says, "This person gave me permission to be added to my list."
(All of your Mail Chimp emails will automatically include an "Unsubscribe" option and your full address as required).
Next, click on the "Subscribe" button at the bottom of the page. Now that person has been added to your list.

6) Now click on the "3 black bars" located at the top left of the page and then click on "Templates". Next, click on
"Create Template" and click the "Select" button shown for the 1:2 Column. You will be taken to another page.
Do not drop any images into the template yet. At the very bottom of your screen click on "Save and Exit" >.

7) You will now be taken to "Templates" where you will click on "Edit". You can move any of the "Content Blocks" around to wherever you want them. You can duplicate the different box types and move them where you want on the page. To replicate any of our company-designed Mail Chimp Templates you may want to print each one out so it's easier to read the text that needs to be entered. * Make sure that all of our links in our company-designed Mail Chimp emails are linked on your Mail Chimp emails: i.e. Our Website link, Our Social Media links, Our Profile Listings link, Our Sign-up link, etc.

8) After you have finished entering all of the content you can click on the arrow located at the top right hand corner of your screen and then select the "Preview and Test" option. You can click on "Enter Preview Mode" to see what it will look like when a real estate agent receives it. You can also choose the "Test Email" option to send it to your "Test" email account that you created in Step 1 to see what it looks like.

9) If everything looks good go back to "Templates" and click on the downward arrow located beside the edit button and select "Create Campaign". Next, select who to send it to from the "To which list should we Send?" Then go to the bottom right of your screen and click on "Next Step Set-up>".

10) Enter the real estate agent's name in the "Name your Campaign" box. Next, enter the "Email Subject" information:
i.e. Reno Realtor needed by Canadians or whatever information is required for the type of email you are sending. For the "From name" enter your own name not Promark Preferred. The "from email address" should be automatically displayed.
*Under - Specify (MERGETAGS) for recipient name, enter the name of whomever you are sending the email to.

11) Click on "Next step: Template>" which is located on the very bottom right hand side of your screen. make sure the email looks perfect and then click on "Next step: Confirm>" which is located on the very bottom right hand corner of your screen.

12) You will be taken to a page where you can click on "List" to make sure the recipient's email address is where you want to send the email. If it is correct click on "Send" and follow the additional requests on that page to send the email.

13) Now wait a minute or so for Mail Chimp to send it and then click on the "3 black bars" located at the top left hand corner of the page and click on "Reports". Click on "View report" to see the real estate agent email that you just sent. This is where the following important information will eventually appear:
A) It will show "Successful delivery" or you may need to check the email address.
B) You can "View email" to see the email you just sent.
C) You can see how many times the real estate agent opened the email over a day or two or longer. (Total Opens).
D) You can view the total number of clicks. (Total Clicks).
E) You can view the top links that were clicked (Top Links Clicked).
F) You can also click on "Subscribers with Most Opens" and you will be able to see how many times your email was opened by the real estate agent and at what time or times it was opened.

14) * Tip: Click on the "3 black bars" located at the top left of the page and then click on "Templates". Next, click on the downward arrow located beside the "Edit" button on the right hand side of the page and from the drop down menu click on "Replicate". This will copy the email layout for the real estate agent that you have created. Now all you have to do is re-label the replicate email with another real estate agent's name, change the area or city they cover and it's done. Try sending a replicate to your "Test" email address to ensure it has all of the correct information.
